I'm not just a therapist who happens to see couples if I have availability. Couples therapy is my focus and passion. I use evidence-based approaches (e.g., EFT, Gottman) to help you understand the patterns you’re stuck in and actually change them by changing how you communicate. We won’t talk about the problem-of-the-week; we’ll work directly with how the two of you interact, so the changes and connection you make in session carry into real life.
No. My role is to understand both of you and the dynamic between you. You should each feel heard and respected as we explore the current struggles in your relationship.
Yes. Many couples come in at that point, often feeling exhausted, disconnected, or unsure how things could get better. If both of you come ready to do the work, then I'm optimistic about what we can accomplish together. However, sometimes separation or divorce is unavoidable. In these cases, I can help you gain clarity about what the right decision is for the relationship and how to move forward with that decision with care and compassion.
Yes! In addition to ongoing couples therapy, I offer discernment counseling for couples who are unsure whether to stay together, as well as longer, intensive sessions for those who want to work more deeply in a condensed fashion. If you’re not sure which approach fits your situation, we can talk it through and decide what makes the most sense.
